"This God"

This God who flung the stars in space,

Wants to talk to me,

He says He knew me in the womb,

Before I came to be.

Long before Creatin,

Before “Let there be light,”

I was someone that He chose,

To save and make me right.

He saw the moment I was born,

In every room since then,

Every step I ever made,

He knew just where and when.

Though I made my bed in hell,

And thought that’s where I’d stay,

He never ever let me go,

Was with me all the way.

And when I finally turned to Him,

His Spirit brought to me,

The power of His cleansing blood,

To set my spirit free.

The storms of life are too intense,

I cannot understand,

But Jesus calms the wind and waves,

And always holds my hand.

He calls me ever forward,

He says to not look back,

He even heals my memories,

Supplies all that I lack.

He’s for me not against me,

He tells me I belong,

And He has ‘bout convinced me,

That when I’m weak, I’m strong.

I’m wearing all His armor,

I have faith’s strong shield,

The Word of God, the Spirit’s sword,

In my right hand I wield.

I say come and go with me,

The battle is not long,

The Lamb on high is coming,

We sing His victory song.

There really is no reason,

That you cannot come, too,

He has numbered ever hair,

And He has chosen you.

“Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.” (Eph. 1:4, NLT)
