"Global Warm"
I’m not a weather expert,
But I keep up on the news,
Try to be prepared and such,
With the climate and its cues.
And I have seen the damage,
That one brief storm can do,
They can’t always predict it,
That wind will blow it’s true.
I have seen dry weather,
When the earth is starved for rain,
And I have seen the blessing,
When the moisture falls again.
Been freezin’ in the winter,
And sweated with the heat,
Survived through many seasons,
And seen them oft repeat.
Not sure bout global warming,
What I think about that stuff,
But if they’re right about it,
I’d hate to see how rough,
With a winter even colder,
And the snow piled up and deep,
Maybe warming makes the difference,
When tears freeze if you weep.
But if you’re horseback in it,
Or throwing cake to cows,
Or pulling calves from heifers,
Or stuck in the ice somehow,
You can’t much believe it,
That global warming’s real,
When your beard is frozen solid,
And your toes you cannot feel.
The God of all creation,
Who guides us through each day,
Created this world’s weather,
And has the final say.
And what I know about it,
Is I will trust in Him,
With all that weather brings us,
Hot or cold and when.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding…” (Prov. 3:5, NLT)
Trusting means just that: I put my trust in the Lord whom I can’t see concerning everything I can see. As much as the meteorologists understand about the weather, they still cannot predict it accurately. No one relly expects them to. What to do about the uncertainties of life? Trust in the Lord. Let your faith in the faith even take precedence over what you try to understand with your mind. Why is this important? Simply because figuring everything out may lead to thinking we can control things when we clearly cannot. Trust in the Lord. Depend upon Him to help make sense of what happens and why. God’s wisdom trumps all human understanding anyway. Get some.
Lord, help us to trust You with all our hearts, in Jesus’ name.
