"God-Spot"
I hope you have a God-Spot,
A place where you can go,
To feel the Holy Spirit,
And He lets. you know,
That He is always with you,
And you can count on Him,
To help. you with your problems,
It’s how it’s always been.
From the gulf stream to the mountains,
There is something in the air,
A sacred space for worship,
I feel God everywhere.
When horseback or with children,
Driving down a country road,
His presence is the reason,
I can lost my heavy load.
With music or with silence,
With laughter and with tears,
The gift of God’s own presence,
Relieves my doubts and fears.
I can rest and I can reason,
I can pray and I can praise,
I can think about His purpose,
And my own spirit raise.
And when it’s time to get back,
To the routine and the chores,
I know I’ll need awareness,
With all that even more.
Lord, help me take the feeling,
Of Your presence here with me,
Into every situation,
Your will to make it be.
And help me keep my focus,
On all that matters most,
And help me pay attention,
To Your own Holy Ghost.
“Be still, and know that I am God…” (Ps. 46:10, NLT)
Being still is not easy for us, but necessary. God is certainly always with us, without interruption. But our awareness of His presence most often depends on our willingness to get still and quiet with the Lord in mind. It also helps to have a place where we can retreat and disconnect from the routine’s commotion. Quiet time may seem old-fashioned and out-dated to some, but if we make the space the Lord is faithful to fill it. And when life gets hard it’s what we need to feel the most. Be still and know.
Lord, give us quiet times when we can be alone with You, in Jesus’ name.
