"Revive"

If I to you seem worried,

It’s not the way it seems,

I carry a light burden,

Distinct from what has been.

Burden light and easy yoke,

That’s what the Good Lord gives,

Rest for the exhausted,

The only way to live.

So it isn’t that I’m fearful,

I know the Lord’s In charge,

No matter if the problem,

Seems challenging and large.

But the point I’m making,

Is the Lord laid on my heart,

To pray for everybody,

By grace to make a start.

To seek Him for revival,

As strong times in the past,

When in Wales and China,

On Him their burdens cast.

Another great awakening,

Is really what we need,

For God to get His church right,

And His flock to feed.

I know this might sound crazy,

But what if how it came,

Was through the cowboy churches,

Who called upon His name.

Lord, please start in my church,

And, Lord, begin in me,

To sent great transformation,

That we desire to see.

Why the cowboy churches?

Of all the churches, why?

Maybe if they’re humble,

And will only try,

To let the right thing happen,

By the Spirit, not by men,

And maybe He will grace us,

With revival once again.

But not just with emotion,

Or what does not long last,

But the work of God’s own Kingdom,

To lift up those downcast.

And let the fire heal us,

And let the river flow,

Let the wind of the Spirit,

Upon us fiercely blow.

Revive, O Lord, your people,

Change us, Lord, we pray,

Beginning with us, even now,

On this very day.

“Won’t You revive us again, so Your people can rejoice in You?” (Psalm 85:6, NLT)

The Psalmist asked the Lord for revival. The exact meaning is the infuse with life again. Through Jesus we have received eternal life. But to be revived means to be filled to overflowing with that life again. This happens when we become cooperative with God’s will and call on Him to fill us. So many obstacles and problems are immediately solved when the Spirit empowers us. We are given a new perspective based on God’s will and word, and new energy to do it. The church needs it. Our nation needs it. We need it. Now…

Lord, revive us, in Jesus’ name.
