“Amazing Grace”

Five stones and a sling,

Aren’t much of anything,

But with God’s pow’r they bring,

A giant’s head and bling,

From shepherd to a king,

It just beats everything.

Big water parted ways,

Wind blew so hard it stays,

God’s people get away,

From their slavin’ days,

Till God gives His okays,

And drowns the ones who chase,

It shows amazing grace.

There were only three,

Who would not bow the knee,

And everyone could see,

The King’s wrath came to be,

The fire so hot that he,

Sure death by his decree,

God comes and sets them free.

She wandered to the well,

Her life with so much hell,

But there something would gel,

No matter that she fell,

He’d quench her thirst and dwell,

With her, heal every cell,

She got good news to tell.

No longer sick but dead,

They heard what Jesus said,

Let’s go, he’s gone to bed,

He wept, His mood they read,

But gone, let’s move ahead,

Called forth by name He led,

Alive!  The grave clothes shed.

And then for you and me,

The Son of God you see,

Betrayed, nailed to a tree,

No other way to be,

But raised up on day three,

To save and set us free,

Restored eternally!

“...we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done...” (Romans 5:1, NLT)

Our God always does what it takes.   It’s a good thing to remember.  In the most impossible of circumstances He comes through again and again, every time.  He does not always bring the miracle we want, but He always brings what we need.  And in the final analysis, His death and resurrection becomes the final solution.  Amazing grace!

Lord, teach us to trust in Your grace, in Jesus name.
