"Soldiers"

Light walkin’, truth talkin’,

Soldiers of the Son,

Dragon-slayin’, scripture sayin’,

Make the devil run.

Known a few, and no doubt who,

Came to draw the line,

No compromise with satan’s lies,

I’m thankful for those kind.

Fast the pace to seek His face,

Men of sword and prayer,

Armor on, fear all gone,

Cast on Him their care.

The war is won but battle’s on,

Till every foe submits,

Until then the victory win,

And never call it quits.

So join the fray right now, today,

Don’t be a watcher now,

Engage for real, His presence feel,

The Lord will show us how.

We rise and fight in holy light,

And make the darkness go,

In Jesus’ name, His blood the same,

So everyone can know,

The Good News sent and all is spent,

To further His great cause,

The sin-sick soul will be made whole,

Forever without pause.

“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith…” (1 Peter 5:8-9, NAS)

We are resisters of a noisy foe. Compared to a roaring lion, he is always trying new ways to steal, kill and destroy us. But we are armed with great power. We have the Holy Spirit, the one within us who is greater than he who is in the world. We are clothed in God’s armor. We have the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word. We are intimately connected to the Almighty through prayer. The name and blood of Jesus are symbols of our authority. Resist the devil.. Resist him, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, help us resist satan, in Jesus’ name.
