"We Choose"

The way we choose,

The win or lose,

Depends on what is right.

Some try to say,

They’ll be okay,

Though running from the light.

Men love the dark,

The difference stark,

From those who love what’s true.

Deceived, you see,

Both he and she,

And wrong is what they do.

But Jesus died,

Was crucified,

To give God’s grace to all,

If we repent,

The Spirit’s sent,

To help us hear God’s call.

Your choice to make,

His grace to take,

Or tell yourself you can’t.

But Jesus’ plan,

Says yes, you can,

The Kingdom seed He’ll plant.

What you were,

Cannot deter,

Your salvation strong.

Bought with a price,

Cleanse every vice,

And changed from what you were.

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, yet it did not fall, it had its foundation on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25, NIV)

We choose life’s foundation. Jesus promised stability to those who choose to hear His words and practice them. The storms of life will come, but the house remains secure because the foundation is certain. His . promise is that the righteous choice is our part. The security is His part, and is something we can count on. Choose wisely.

Lord, help us choose the firm foundation, in Jesus’ name. (Art by Steve Boaldin, used by permission.)
