"What Prophets Know"

The ancient prophet had it right,

His faith gave him some strong insight,

To point us to the God of light,

He calls the stars by name.

This same One calls our name, too,

Summons us, shows what to do,

Always faithful, always true,

We live to bring Him fame.

This God created all we see,

But sends His care for you and me,

And with us He will always be,

The Holy One who’s near.

And though He judges undeterred,

No matter what you might have heard,

No doubt some His wrath incurred,

We have nothing to fear.

‘Cause He offers peace and rest,

His lovingkindness is the best,

And by His grace we pass the test,

As eagles we mount up.

So come and see what prophets know,

Abou the One who loves us so,

And from the highest to the low,

He overflows our cup.

“Look up into the heavens.. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army one after another, calling each by its name.” (Isaiah 40:26, NLT)

The One who created and named the stars calls our name, too. He is the greatest of all, yet knows and loves us immeasurably. There is no doubt we deserve His judgment, and His judgement of us is just. Yet He chooses to give us grace through Jesus Christ His Son. Jesus is the ultimate star of God’s show, and we become stars if we know Him.

Lord, help us to answer the calling of Your love, in Jesus’ name.
